Baby Megan!!!

Well I'm sure almost everyone knows that Megan has arrived already. She was born on Saturday February 5th at 4:17pm, and weighed 5lbs 5oz. She was a little less than 6 weeks early. She was in the NICU for almost a week but was released on Friday and is home with us now, keeping us on our toes already.
For those who want to know, here is the birth story. Friday the 4th was a normal day, I went to work like any other day. It was actually a pretty good day, I didn't have any contractions at all. We went to dinner with my parents that night, and then headed home kinda late, I was laying in bed almost asleep and I felt kinda wet and warm, I stood up really fast and right there next to my bed my water broke. So we headed to the hospital, grateful that we had just gone on the tour of the hospital that week and we knew where to go. I checked in at midnight and they took me to triage, they did a couple of tests to make sure it was my water that had broke (now I don't know why nurses have to doubt you so much). The tests were positive and I was already 3.5 cm dilated, so they took me to a labor and delivery room. They started me on Magnesium sulfate to hold off the labor for the steroid shot to start working on the baby's lungs. Around lunch they decided that they need to check me again and see if the mag was working. I was at a 6 by then. So they let me get my epidural (best thing ever!), but they did up my dose of mag and gave me different drugs to try and stall the labor for at least 24 hours. Right after I got the epidural my doctor was there and checked me, I was at an 8 by then and he stopped the mag, and said that I was going to have a baby pretty soon. Needless to say we were in total shock that she was going to be arriving so soon. We were not ready at all to say the least. So a couple more hours and we were ready to start pushing, three contractions later she was here. She came out mad and screaming, and got 9's on both of her APGAR screenings, but was taken right to the NICU because she was premature.
I was released on Monday, but she had to stay because they wanted to make sure that she was able to regulate her own temperature and that she was able to feed from the bottle for everything and was able to eat enough to start gaining weight. She was the champ of the NICU and all of the nurses could not believe how well she was doing for being as early as she was. We know that we have been blessed in everything that has gone so well. We are grateful that she is able to be home with us now.

Congrats!! What a beautiful baby! After our two little preemies, I'm convinced babies come on their own time :) She is such a doll. I'm glad you guys are both doing well!

That is a scary story, but I'm glad she is doing so well. Heck her APGAR scores were amazing! My little boy was 1.5 weeks late and only scored 3 on his. She is adorable by the way!
